The Taking
Within Rust has been on our radar for a while now and they just released a new single "The Taking" and I have to say... I haven't heard music like this coming out of Vancouver. A mix of Metric, The Killers yet with almost some Joe Satriani guitar influence. Their new single is catchy, memorable, sonically interesting and structured perfectly! A definite must see if you have the time!
Check them out on Facebook HERE.

No End To The War
The Post War's new album is ready to take its permanent place in your CD player! We were invited to their CD release show at the Media Club and had a blast!
No Operator opened the night up. We've been a big fan of these guys since we saw them in Victoria. We're extremely glad to see Rednyne helping them build their Vancouver fan base. Their set this night was extremely tight and their new songs are amazing pieces of music. Keep your eyes glued to this band! There will be big things in their future!

Season To Attack took the stage next and played an extremely tight set as well. A mix of Pop/Rock/Punk made their set very diverse, dynamic and never boring! Great crowd interaction and some comedic relief made sure there were no dull moments between songs either. It was great seeing the rest of the band singing backup vocals as well, which made the songs sound huge!

Ugly Men changed things around with their progressive punk alternative rock. Meshing a ton of genres together to create this wall of sound that takes you on a journey from start to finish! This is band that you have to see live to understand. Scott Whalen's bass sounds like a demon from hell, Jonathan Wu's guitar fits perfectly on top, like tanks storming a city, all while tied together with Phil Gardner's explosive drums!

Last but not least was the main act, The Post War. I've only heard them live a few times and this was the best they've sounded yet! Great dynamics in the vocals, with the perfect amount of grit. All the tracks sounded polished and just plain huge. If you have a chance, do your self a favour and grab their new album!
