We had a quick chat with Jordan Craig about ONFIILM's upcoming show at Canadian Music Week.
Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
ONFIILM: Canadian music for me has the tendency to either come across as sort of Canadian versions of other bands that are popular elsewhere, playing it very safe and building an audience off an already established sound. On the other hand, Canada is a place that shows true innovation. When you hear a unique sounding band in Canada it has a fresh, honest quality that I don’t think you hear anyplace else. The music from these bands seem to grow from the very ground, and bring fans into our world.
Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
ONFIILM: We got involved by submitting our demo video “Shade” to the powers that be, and they though we deserved a slot.
Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
ONFIILM: We have a huge stage show planned with video glitch art projected on the band (and exotic dancers) using our own projection system. The music is completely original content with no covers, and our live shows are legendary...not to be missed.
Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
ONFIILM: I’d like to send the message to people listening to our music, to accept no compromise in your music. Expect the most from your artists, let us show you who we are and what we are made of. ONFIILM using the same vintage equipment that we record with to tour. We want you to hear the real deal, the real us. Accept no compromise. No excuses, just the best music possible from our minds, hearts and hands. Straight to your ears.
Hammer Records: Whats coming up for you?
ONFIILM: We are currently working on our first record in our own studio, built specifically for ONFIILM with all our favourite vintage gear and equipment. Tracks will be available at CMW. We are booking shows for the summer in select cities and look forward to bringing ONFIILM to you.
