#CMW Artist Showcase - Lungflower

I used to play shows with Lungflower back when I was back in a metal band. Multiple shows with multiple bands, but Lungflower has trekked on. With a little bit of a line up change, they have marched on and are performing at this years Canadian Music Week. We spoke with Tyler about their upcoming performance.

Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
Lungflower: I think of all the bands from our hometown we've been privileged  to share the stage with, the local and neighbouring musicians 

we've connected with, and the incredible Canadian musicians from other provinces we've yet, but look forward to meeting!

Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
Lungflower: I applied for us to play at the festival through Sonicbids, and a month or so later got the acceptance letter! It's funny
because I only applied as a kind of half hearted attempt, didn't really expect to be chosen as a showcasing
band. Guess you just never know!

Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
Lungflower: We do have a specific set list planned for this show, but we're not giving anything away nice try ;) Personally what I think
is enticing about our shows is how much we throw ourselves into every song. There's not a show we've ever played where I wasn't  drenched in sweat after getting off the stage. Music is about performance just as much as talent, and people who've decided to come out and support us deserve to hear and see a great show. We love connecting with the audience during the set as well. Come jump on the stage, headband with us, mosh with us! If there's a big enough crowd you can bet your ass
I'll attempt to crowd surf.

Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
Lungflower: Keep the dream alive! When your listening to our stuff just
know that we've put every inch of ourselves into it. At the end of the day we're just a bunch of guys who love playing music more than anything. It's a burning flame, a passion, and above all what I'd want a listener to come away with after hearing us is how much passion we have for what we do.

Hammer Records: Whats coming up for you?

Lungflower: This is actually a very busy time for us! Aside from working on our new 7 song studio album ("Effigy") which will be 

 released just before we hit the road, the CMW show is but one stop on our first ever cross Canada tour (Vancouver to Quebec City and back)!. We can't officially release all our dates yet but if you like us on Facebook we can keep you posted about when we might be in or close to your city!
