Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
Dr.Boogie: I guess the first thing that comes to mind in the great Canadian Punk band Teenage Head. As a band in general, we listen to a wide variety of music. We are defiantly familiar with Canadian musicians and bands. Neil Young and everybody in the "the Band" with the exception of Levon Helm are a few acts that stand out as well as Danko Jones who really dig a lot.
Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
Dr.Boogie: We were asked to play the festival by John Kastner and are thrilled to be playing and invited to play CMW.
Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
Dr.Boogie: We plan on bringing a real dose of some serious authentic Rock'n'Roll up to Toronto to stop help put a stop to this terrible rumor that Rock'n'Roll is dead! I assure you that the Dr. Boogie shows will be proof of that.
Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
Dr.Boogie: We just want the Canadian music listeners to know that if you really miss and know what Rock'n'Roll is all about- we might be just what you're looking for. We love putting on a great energetic show and do our best to bring that excitement back to Rock music.
Hammer Records: Whats coming up for you?
Dr.Boogie: Our debut record "Gotta Get Back to New York City" was just released this past Dec on Dead Beat Records as well as having a 7inch that just came out on the Italian label White Zoo Records. We are starting our U.S Tour April 20th in Austin Texas in support of both releases.
