Callum Stewart has unveiled the video for
his new single ‘The Dam’, out now through Hope & Fury Records. The
video premiered with Wonderland who described Callum as a, “Northern Irish heartthrob… we are sure there will be many more hearts in for the melting.” The video follows a couple's beautiful love story, capturing its stunning highs and lows, soundtracked by the pristine alt-pop and voice of the Northern Irish singer. Co-written with Jez Ashurst (Gabrielle Aplin, Lawson) and Emma Rohan (James Arthur, Little Mix), ‘The Dam’ follows the breakout success of his single ‘Parachute’ last year, which has clocked up over half a MILLION plays on Spotify. Regarding ‘The Dam’ and its video, Callum says, “I wanted to convey the desperation in the song visually, representing the optimism and promise in the lyrics. ‘The Dam’ is a song about holding on in the midst of chaos, a song of restoration and hope. Two amazing actors and an incredible team helped bring the video to life, and I hope people love it as much as I do.” Raised on the North coast of Ireland, Callum picked up a guitar at the age of 12 and within a year was writing his own songs. Now he has blossomed from a bedroom singer/songwriter into one of the hottest voices coming from Ireland today. He’s been tipped as a ‘One To Watch’ for 2017 by Hot Press and made the playlists of Irish radio across the country. Callum has been announced as support for X&Y at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on March 21st, and will also play in support of Leah McFall at Brighton’s Komedia on April 16th and Seafret on May 2nd at Bush Hall, London.
“Irish
newcomer set to soar… ‘The Dam’ is a mature, reflective work, with
melancholic ache that lingers long after the final notes”

“Adroitly executed by a young woman who
‘would happily write songs all day, everyday, forever’. No complaints

21-year-old UK indie-pop artist Jerry Williams has revealed the video for her brand new track ‘I’m Not In Love With You’, taken from her latest EP Let’s Just Forget It, which is out now.
Jerry says of both the song and the video, “'I'm
Not In Love With You' is about falling completely out of 'love' with
someone and realising you weren't a match made in heaven. The video
shows this in a house party setting, similar to the night it was written
about, where we're having a good time with friends and sharing mutual
feelings of not seeing each other that way anymore.”
With strong worldwide backing from Spotify,
who have just added 'I'm Not In Love With You' to the UK's New Music
Friday playlist today, Jerry has accrued over 5 million combined
streams. As well as BBC Radio 1 spot plays from Huw Stephens, sold out
headline shows in both London and Portsmouth, and being tipped as one of
The Box TV’s & BT Music’s ‘Ones To Watch’ alongside Declan McKenna,
RAYE and Tom Grennan, 2017 is shaping up to be a real breakthrough year
for the Portsmouth artist.
As well as ‘I’m Not In Love With You’, her
latest EP Let’s Just Forget It, which recently won Best Produced EP at
the 2016 Unsigned Music Awards, features five stunning indie pop tracks
including Jerry’s previous three singles ‘Mother’, ‘Let’s Just Forget It’ & ‘Velcro’, plus her cover of The Cure’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’. Listen to the EP in full HERE.
She also recently recorded a session for VEVO DSCVR, which can be watched HERE and which has already surpassed 100,000 views.
After selling out her biggest headline show
to date earlier this month, at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms, Jerry is
set to headline in the capital at The Waiting Rooms on March 28th,
which could well be the last opportunity to catch her in such an
intimate setting.
“The Portsmouth teen is dedicated to
perfection and she’s close to the mark. This isn’t just another instance
of overblown bubble-gum pop, Jerry Williams is the music-fan’s pop
star” - Gigwise“There's a sweetness to her delivery that belies that often personal nature of her lyrics, a
song writing style that cuts a little deeper” – Clash

Leave A Light On
We heard about Ivy James during our interviews with artists that were performing at Toronto Music Week. Her newest single and video "Leave A Light On" is fantasiclly filmed and a real throwback to early 2000's pop rock. Reminding me of Paramore, Avril Lavigne, Lillix, this song fits perfectly into a pocket that has been empty for too long. I think this is a solid single and I hope a second single is released with just a little more bite, a little more attitude just to contradict this first single. We will be keeping our eye on Ivy!
Check out Ivy's Facebook page HERE.

Made To Love You
The video premiered with Shortlist who said, “Domestic violence is an issue that needs to be talked about more, with the shocking figures that 1 in 4 women, and 1 in 6 men will be affected by the issue in their lifetime. Therefore, this hard-hitting new video from up-and-coming Shrewsbury singer-songwriter Dan Owen is an important piece of work. The song, ‘Made To Love You’, was written from the personal experience of Dan supporting a friend suffering in an abusive relationship, with the lyrics touching on the conflict of emotions felt by one partner to another.”

The official ‘Stop The Rain’ video was also beautifully shot in various locations around Morocco and has clocked up over 126K YouTube plays to date since premiering with The Independent, who called it a “slice of euphoric pop”. It reveals a taste of what’s to come from their forthcoming second album, full details of which will be announced soon.

Jerry Williams announces 'Mother' video
UK singer/songwriter Jerry Williams has revealed the official video for her brand new single ‘Mother’, out now. It is the lead single taken from her forthcoming EP Let’s Just Forget It,due for release September 16th.
Filmed in a bright yellow studio the video perfectly complements Jerry’s fresh vintage style, showcasing her energetic and playful persona in a fun-filled band performance. It’s a 2-minute, 20-second slice of indie-pop perfection.
Co-written and produced with longtime collaborator Dan Brown the single also features Ian Matthews (Kasabian) on drums alongside Jerry’s intricate and rhythmic guitar playing, creating the catchy melodic tones of the song. The single is taken from the forthcoming EPLet’s Just Forget It and will feature on the new TV series ‘Scream’ which airs on July 12thon MTV USA and Netflix in Europe.
‘Mother’ is the latest track from the Portsmouth based, 20-year-old songstress and follows the previous single ‘Boy Oh Boy’, which received national radio support with BBC Introducing and features on the acclaimed Cold Beer EP released last year.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Vampire Weekend, Slow Club and Coldplay, Jerry’s narrative storytelling has caught the attention of some big songwriters and she has collaborated with Dan Carey (Rae Morris, Miles Kane), Carey Willets (Athlete) and Jim Duguid (Paulo Nutini, Alex Clare) and has been compared to the likes of Lily Allen and Gabrielle Aplin. She has also been signed recently by Select Models Management.
As one of the UK’s most exciting upcoming female artists of 2016, Jerry and her band will be appearing at BST Hyde Park on July 9th along with Take That, Olly Murs, Ella Eyre and more. Full details and tickets available here.
Already packing out venues across her home town of Portsmouth, Jerry Williams has been impressing music fans across Europe following her recent debut European Tour supporting Vanessa Carlton, which saw her play a sold-out show at the Lexington, London.
Massmatiks reveal video for '4AM'
Explosive four-piece MassMatiks, have released the video for their second single ‘4AM’, which was premiered on Rock Sound. Inspired by a past breakup, frontman George Peploe comments on the video saying, "We wanted to connect the story of the song with the video, so we came up with the idea of setting up TVs and playing what was going through my head at the time.”
“As the song goes on, so does the narrative in the video. Trashing the TVs felt like the natural thing to do to reflect the emotions I felt during the breakup - not gonna lie, it was fun too..."
With a gentle opening lyrical lament, it doesn’t take long for ‘4AM’ to launch into a tirade of riffery and a huge melodic chorus. Laced with lead singer Peploe’s fiery British, invective-spitting vocals, ‘4AM’ is another serving of hard-hitting UK rock that sits proudly alongside fellow UK contemporaries such as Slaves, Sleaford Mods and Royal Blood.
The band recently supported fellow rockers Rory Indiana in June and as well an appearance at Y Not Festival and a London headline show at The Old Blue Last in July, Massmatiks will be hitting the road with Allusondrugs in August.
This is a true band of the people, oozing with raw honesty and not ones to lend themselves to a specific scene, sound or genre. With a raft of new music and even more shows to come this year, keep a watchful eye out for MassMatiks.

It Could Be You - The Fairest And Best
Many singers have sung about current events, politics, hard times. But only a few really get their message out beyond their followers. It takes a mixture of clever song writing, catchy hooks and good production in order to really get the song to travel as far as it can. "It Could Be You" by The Fairest And Best, has all of this. From the first note you know you are in for a journey.
Music is universal and I hope this songs travels and touches the lives of many affected by this tragedy. The song puts great the situation in a great perspective "it could be you", meaning would you care about the issue more if it was you? Of course you would. So why not give these human beings the same respect that you give yourself. Here is a little write up from the band's website:
We are really excited to share our new single, "It Could Be You"with you.
So, watch the video - listen to the words - and enjoy the song. If you then feel so inclined, please consider purchasing the single. All proceeds of the sale of this song go to International Red Cross for their work with refugees worldwide.
"...Do you really think it's true - when you say there's nothing we can do
When you know you'd never say that as a child?"
We appreciate your interest in "It Could Be You". We have been busy with our music lately! If you watch the Discovery Channel, NASCAR Network, or FOX Sports - be on the lookout for our music. Fourteen other TV shows have also asked to use the songs from our new EP "When I Feel Like This".
As a band, we feel so strongly about refugee issues that we decided to donate all the proceeds of "It Could Be You" to The International Red Cross to support their work on behalf of refugees worldwide. The single was also funded by members of Resa's Pieces Singers, the choir that Robert directs (www.resaspieces.org). That's actually a story in itself. Read about it here. They also sing on the chorus and bridge of the song and are featured in the video - the link is below on the left.
If you happen to want to also pick up some of the other great music that we've been working on along with "It Could Be You", you can do that too. There are two bundles available - both have the option of a CD copy of our EP as well. The portion of the single will still be passed on to the refugee initiatives regardless of which bundle you choose.
Please share this link to your friends and colleagues - we really hope to raise a lot of money for this important cause.
Thank you for your support!
So please do what you can to help out this great cause and spread this song, support the band and most of all, support the refugees.

We are really excited to share our new single, "It Could Be You"with you.
It's a song that challenges us to assess our personal response to the worst refugee crisis since the last Great War.
That's really the main point isn't it? With all of the crazy things going on in the world, it could just as easily be you having to flee for your life. That's the idea of the song. We hope that this idea stirs you to get involved and to support other people - "people who just like you" - but are unlucky enough to be on the wrong side of fortune. So, watch the video - listen to the words - and enjoy the song. Joseph Arthur - Machines Of War
Joseph Arthur has revealed the video for his tender new single ‘Machines Of War’. Coinciding with the US Memorial Day next week, the track was premiered on Flood Magazine and is a haunting and shadowy eclipse of wartime terror beneath the song’s melancholic melodies.
Joseph comments, “‘Machines of War’ wasn't meant to be a protest song but rather part of the greater story in ‘The Family’. It's sung from the perspective of my/one’s Grandfather going off to fly a fighter plane in World War Two. But as I wrote it and sung it I did start feeling the emotion of the personal loss war creates. The loss of war factors heavily in the overall story of ‘The Family’ and I felt that that obviously resonated with the current times.”
‘Machines Of War’ is taken from his new album The Family, which will be released through Real World Records on June 3rd and available on vinyl in late June. The album sees Joseph in his creative element, at the hands of his recently acquired 1912 Steinway Vertegrand piano, which he wrote the whole ofThe Family on - a first for Joseph who for the most part writes songs from guitar, and who single-handedly took on vocals, drums, drum programming, pianos, guitars and synths for the recording of the new album.
You can see the piano in question, which was a potent source of inspiration for his raw and emotive writing, in the video for the previous single ‘You Keep Hanging On’, which perfectly captures the dreamscape moods and beautiful arrangements that resonate throughout the album.
The Family was mixed by Tchad Blake, whose previous collaborations with Joseph include the well-loved songs ‘Honey and the Moon’ and ‘In The Sun’, the latter of which has been covered by Michael Stipe and Peter Gabriel.
Joseph also performed at the recent all-star 'Music of David Bowie’ concert alongside Michael Stipe, Debbie Harry and more with Joseph performing ‘The Man Who Sold The World’. He is also a prolific writer, principally of poetry, and his unique and often unpredictable solo live performances often incorporate live painting and a sprinkling of beat-poetry.
Originally discovered by Peter Gabriel, and subsequently signed to his Real World record label in 1997, Joseph quickly established a reputation as a formidable and creative talent with his experimental folk-rock style, diverse instrumentation and eclectic electronic production elements.
With 20+ albums under his belt, Joseph is as known for his solo records as his collaborations with acclaimed performers including Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, T-Bone Burnett, Dhani Harrison and Ben Harper of Fistful of Mercy and RNDM with Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament.
“Joseph Arthur is a long-term disrupter and a challenger of the norms. He is possibly the most talented musician of the last twenty years in the US. Over the years, he has adapted and changed his style but has always amazed with his offering. Long may this disrupter bring joy to our lives.” Huffington Post
“His influences are plain enough - Dylan, Waits, Cobain - but by the end he sounds like nobody but himself; dark, lovelorn and clever.” The Observer
“Joseph Arthur's an oddball songsmith who weaves words, guitars and a whole heap of discordant sounds into songs that hang around your head long after they finish. The sound is spooked, wildy introspective, yet wide open enchanting.” Uncut
“Put simply, Joe is sickeningly talented.“ The Independent

‘WU TANG SLANG’ ft. RZA LYRIC VIDEO REVEALED
Californian four-piece Faulkner have revealed their collaboration with Wu Tang Clan mastermind RZA on latest single ‘Wu Tang Slang’.
The track premiered with Consequence Of Sound who said, “Staten Island’s own RZA and Californian four-piece Faulkner; the two may come from different sides of the country and different genres entirely, but they both feel the powerful pull of NYC. So much so that they’ve collaborated on a new reworking of Faulkner’s “NY Anthem”… So enthralled with the hook was RZA, however, that he decided to turn the entire thing into a banging track worthy of the Wu. Featuring heavier rhythms and a complete altering of the lyrical structures, the “Wu Tang Slang” thumps loud with all the glory of the city it represents.”
‘Wu Tang Slang’ is a righteous hip-hop anthem with RZA’s unmistakable commanding tone leading alongside the high-rise choruses of Faulkner. RZA and Faulkner first started collaborating on ‘Wu Tang Slang’ while jamming in Bob Dylan’s parked tour bus at Rick Rubin’s Shangri La studio in Malibu, where artists such as Eminem and Adele have worked.
‘Wu Tang Slang’ is the latest song to be taken from the Revanchist EP, and follows the release of the highly praised electro-rock single ‘These Kids Nowadays’ and the trap-pop of ‘Revolutionary’. The EP was produced by RZA, alongside Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons) and J.P. Bowersock (Julian Casablancas, Ryan Adams).
Faulkner consists of LA rockers Lucas Asher (vocals), Eric Scullin (vocals, synth), Dimitri Farougias (bass) and Christian Hogan (drums). They come with a swaggering attitude that’s brewing up a serious storm with their melting pot of synths, rock, hip hop and pop.
New Portals - "Stay Here Tonight"
Not afraid to try new things, New Portals have revealed their highly entertaining video for new single ‘Stay Here Tonight’. The video premiered with leading entertainment site Pretty 52 who called the song, “the perfect summer anthem for when you’re driving with the windows down with the sun on the dashboard.”
The ‘Stay Here Tonight’ comedy short sees the Belfast duo hosting an episode of a bad 80s TV Show. They watch as leading Irish comedians Colin Geddis and Shane Todd, impersonate them, donning an impeccable Blue Steel pout, and inventing synth chord positions never before imagined.
‘Stay Here Tonight’ sees New Portals take their dreamy synth-pop to the discotheque in a blissed out trip of revitalised nostalgia. The late-night charmer witnesses Ruth seduce with a hushed coo, among 90s rave stabs and groovy swathes of synths from Mike.
The single received its first spin from Phil Taggart on Radio 1, who has previously championed the band at the station with their previous singles alongside Huw Stephens. New Portals have also been touted as The Guardian’s ‘New Band Of The Week’ among a wealth of further praise for the irresistible alt-pop duo.
The fast-rising duo are one of the hottest tipped new artists breaking out from Ireland today. Their irresistible take on pop is one of the most intriguing and tantalising new sounds this year.

ABOUT OLD MAN CANYON
Old Man Canyon, led by Vancouver native Jett Pace, emerged on the alternative scene in early 2012. The debut EP, Phantoms and Friends earned rave reviews from the likes of AudioTree, “Their authentic approach to musical creation puts poignant thoughts above contemporaries. The willingness to break folk rules contributes to this authenticity”. Their songs were featured in the MTV series Awkward, Showtime’s Shameless, Bravo’s Suits, ABC’s Pretty Little Liars, FX’s Sons of Anarchy and The CW’s The Flash. While Phantoms and Friends is rooted in a folk-pop sound, comparable to acts such as Chet Faker and Fleet Foxes, Delirium is an evolution in style and genre, bringing new elements that are in-line with the goals of the live show. Delirium finds Pace phasing in vintage synths and electric instruments. Delirium was released on January 15, 2016.

Joseph Arthur - You Keep Hanging On
Joseph Arthur has such a classic voice. Like the kind of voice you would have heard at Woodstock. This video is just so organic. The simplicity of it and the depth of colour of that piano just makes seem so warm.
Joseph Arthur has released the video for his latest single ‘You Keep Hanging On’, taken from the forthcoming album The Family, which will be released through Real World Records on June 3rd and available on vinyl in late June.
The video was premiered on Q and perfectly captures the dreamscape moods and beautiful melodies of the new album and sees Joseph in his creative element, at the hands of his recently acquired 1912 Steinway Vertegrande piano, which he wrote the whole of The Family on - a first for Joseph who for the most part writes songs from guitar, and who single-handedly took on vocals, drums, drum programming, pianos, guitars and synths for the recording of the new album.

Originally discovered by Peter Gabriel, and subsequently signed to his Real World record label in 1997, Joseph quickly established a reputation as a formidable and creative talent with his experimental folk-rock style, diverse instrumentation and eclectic electronic production elements. An accomplished painter, he’s displayed his works in galleries around the world, and his online-only Museum of Modern Arthur (museumofmodernarthur.com) serves as a repository for his creations. Stealth - Judgement Day
Reminding me of Hozier, Sam Smith, and Bruno Mars all mixed together. Stealth puts such soul in each line he delivers. The video is artistically interesting and keeps you interested. Sia has almost coined the "modern dancing girl" in any video, so it just doesn't seem like an original idea when watching this video, but it really works with the song. Has to be watched in high definition though to really feel the video.

From The Depths Of Your Inner Fantasties
Its hard not to look away from the newest Lucid Afterlife's music video. This is the kind of boundaries we rarely see pushed here in Vancouver, but videos like this is what rock and metal thrived on. This is both brilliantly and well done. Its so raw and in your face with both the audio and the video that it can't be ignored. The song fits the video so well as it spins out of control and deeper into the depths of hell. Check it out and share it! This is the kind of music your mom doesn't want you to know about!

MassMatiks - Gunning For You
Coming out of South East London, MassMatiks remind me of Ugly Men (Local Vancouver band) mixed with Arctic Monkeys. That in your face riffs mixed with stadium sized vocals. This band is ready to be rocking stages across north america with this sound. The ending of this track reminds me of a Muse track on overdrive.

Better Move To Montreal!
When I think of Montreal, I think of poutine, the accordion, and cool building. Sam Dowdell thinks of it quite differently! Check out this great single from Vancouver's own Sam Dowdell. Some nice chill music reminding me of Hilary Duff singles mixed with some super early Alicia Keys. Go on and get it onto your iPod!
