#CMW Artist Showcase - Crossing Jane

These lads from Ottawa will be rocking the Canadian Music Week this year and we had a quick chat with them about their upcoming performance!

Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
Crossing Janes: It's better than every other type of music (just kidding... maybe). The first band that comes to mind it The Tragically Hip; definitely one of our favourite bands growing up. Although we sound nothing like them, we certainly look up to them as performers. Also, everyone knows that "Go for a rip" song. We're pretty sure that's the best song ever written.

Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
Crossing Janes: Our drummer; Andrew, attended CMW back in 2014 with his Music Industry Arts class from Algonquin College. He said it was an amazing time, and he got to meet some of his musical idols. So naturally, we applied to play at such a rad event- and we're really excited to show everyone one hell of a show.

Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
Crossing Janes: Of course we'll appeal to hard/punk rockers. However we have a couple tricks up our sleeve. One, in particular drops jaws, and is then followed by "is that coming out of his guitar"? And no, it's not just a sweet solo, something really cool does happen. We promise. Oh, and odds are we'll be bringing Ceerouse (https://www.facebook.com/ceerouse/?fref=ts) with us

Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
Crossing Janes: Our music is about mind expansion. It's very important to be open minded, hopefully done naturally. Sometimes people reach this level of open mindedness by other means... we write songs about that too. But really, we want everyone to have a great time. Our shows always end up being a huge party, and who doesn't like to party?

Hammer Records: What do you have coming up?
Crossing Janes: We are currently sitting on the masters for our brand new EP; "Something In The Water" which will be released on digital and hard media right around the time of this performance. The single from the EP "Don't Turn Me Down" will be released with video prior to the EP. There will be an Ontario/Quebec tour, but the dates for this are also TBA.
To be straight, we'll be hitting the ground running come May. You'll be leaving our show with a copy in your hand.

You can find our music on Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud, Shazam, and a lot of different streaming services.
