#CMW Artist Showcase - Kapitol

Coming all the way from Chile, Kapitol is planning on putting an show to be remembered at Canadian Music Week. We had a quick discussion with them about their upcoming performance.

Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
Kapitol: Fun, music and hard work! We’ve been wanting to play this festival for a long time so when you mention the words Canadian Music Week, our hearts race a little bit and we can never feel like we have rehearsed enough.

Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
Kapitol: Well, we don’t know exactly. CMW is one of those festivals that everyone just knows about. We started to get our hopes up last year when we got invited to play at SXSW. After that, we thought that there was an actual chance for us to play at CMW too.

Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
Kapitol: We try to make all of our shows as unique as possible and we try to engage with our audience and connect with every single person who’s in it. What you listen on our records is very different, in terms of energy and colors, of what you can hear live. We try to make our shows feel like an experience, more than anything else

Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
Kapitol: Positive ones. Lots of our lyrics give a positive message about life and how we are the ones in charge of it. Of course, you can always find a few love-hurting songs while going up and down through our melodies.

Hammer Records: Whats coming up for you?
Kapitol: We will be playing at this year’s SXSW and then during May-June, we should release our second studio album. We are currently promoting the first single: All We Need, and we will soon release the second single (with a brand new video).
