All three could be models, but here they are playing music! Fangclub is joining the ranks of artists performing at Canadian Music Week. We spoke to them about their upcoming performance.
Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
Fangclub: We’re huge fans of Metric and Billy Talent and would consider them a massive influence on our music and aesthetic. Thats probably my biggest draw from Canadian Music, but I will say, there is so many cool new bands coming from Canada right now.
Fangclub: We were selected to play in 2015. The line up was so incredible we thought it must be a joke or mistake that we were included. It was our first show ever on that side of the world too. The whole experience was overwhelmingly positive for us…….We wanted to move to Toronto.
Fangclub: Another high octane adrenaline filled night of riffs and nostalgic pop melodies. We try to make every show stand out in different ways. You have to read the room and be spontaneous. Sometimes stuff gets broken, sometimes Kev ends up on the ground, sometimes Dara levitates and flies over the crowd like a demon. Be adaptable.
Fangclub: Big thanks for the reception last year and we promise to increase our vibe by 110%. Come down to the shows in May and hang out with us.
Fangclub: We’re finishing an Irish tour right now, then some festivals throughout summer. We have a single called “Bullet Head” which is out now online and an EP coming soon!
