#CMW Artist Showcase - The Statistics

We crunched the numbers, statically speaking, if you haven't heard that The Statistics are coming to Toronto then you are going to miss out! We had a quick chat with the band about their upcoming show at Canadian Music Week.

Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
The Statistics: I don't really think of music as the kind of thing that localizes to certain countries. I think regions in Canada shape it such as Francophone music, Vancouver Indie Pop and organizations like the CBC but I have never really heard a song and thought "that's Canadian music." I guess what I'm saying is that It's globalized and that is one of the reasons why I love it.

Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
The Statistics: We applied for the first time this year. Being accepted is a huge honour for us. Especially being noobs to the whole thing.

Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
The Statistics: I have some pretty cool stuff planned but it's not completely set up yet so I can't say much unfortunately. I've been pushing to let anyone in free if they come naked but CMW doesn't seem to be going for it.

Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
The Statistics: We need girlfriends really badly. They can apply at www.facebook.com/statisticsband or email me here. Pics are a must; I don't need some kind of "catfish" situation.

Hammer Records: Whats coming up for you?
The Statistics: We have quite a bit coming up. We are on tour right now until April 13, playing CMW, recording a new CD which will be released late 2016, we have a couple of festivals this summer. Things are on the up for The Statistics right now. You can find our music at www.facebook.com/statisticsband, iTunes, and Spotify. We also have a Snapchat that, if you join, we will give you a free download of our single 'Jealous Heart'.
