#CMW Artist Showcase - Sunrise And Good People

Bringing their Tribal Electric sound from Quebec, Sunrise And Good People had a quick chat with us about Canadian Music Week.

Hammer Records: Tell us what you think of when you think Canadian Music?
Sunrise And Good People: Great music icons like Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Rush, but also new acts like Arcade Fire, Patrick Watson, Feist, Half Moon Run and of course, the bands of the 90's like Tragically Hip, The Tea Party, Cowboy Junkies and many more! Some of the best music in the world!

Hammer Records: How did you get involved in Canadian Music Week?
Sunrise And Good People: We first played CMW in 2014 at the Underground Garage, thanks to a business partner (Jean Langlais), who got us the gig. That's when we met our future management team made of Kathy Hahn and Jean Langlais! This year, Kathy made everything happen to get us a showcase, and it worked!

Hammer Records: What do you have planned for Canadian Music Week?
Sunrise And Good People: Giving the best act ever, connecting with people and offering a journey nobody will forget, enlightning and reconnecting with the source! No superficial dressing items, just the pure human energy! Watch out for the face without makeup! We are also looking forward to meet with our whole team in Toronto (Am to Fm Promotions - Andrea Morris / Synch Audio - Farinoush Mostaghimi / Westing - Marie-France Pépin)

Hammer Records: What message do you want to send to Canadians listening to your music?
Sunrise And Good People: At the very beginning, when we found the band's name (Sunrise and Good People), we already knew we wanted to get involved in a social, humanitarian and spiritual message. The idea was to mix a little bit of Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Dead Can Dance and a visual signature like the movie Baraka (Ron Fricke). Hope in humanity, thriving for a greater evolution!

Hammer Records: Whats coming up for you?

Sunrise And Good People: We are currently recording new versions of two songs (Back into the sun & The Love), both on our latest LP (Closer to the flame/March 2015) to get the live impulse, like we play on stage; the goal is to ''get'' the energy on ''tape''.
To listen to some of our music and videos, here are a couple of links:
A bigger project is also in the making, we can't say much about it but it involves a movie, music and the origins of the band... probably out in 2018!
